Everton have reached a £28 million agreement with Chelsea to sign midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, as the Toffees look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The deal includes an initial payment of £24 million, with an additional £3–4 million in performance-related add-ons. Dewsbury-Hall, 26, is now set to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms with Everton, despite late interest from Fulham.
The England international had initially been reluctant to leave Stamford Bridge, especially after contributing to Chelsea’s successful 2024/25 campaign in which the club won the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League, and qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
However, with limited playing time under Enzo Maresca and fierce competition in midfield from the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Romeo Lavia, Chelsea were open to offloading Dewsbury-Hall to help balance their financial books.
Dewsbury-Hall joined Chelsea from Leicester City in 2024 for £30 million, reuniting with Maresca, his former manager at Leicester. Though he made key contributions—scoring five goals in all competitions and assisting in the Conference League final—he struggled to break into the starting XI regularly.
Everton manager Sean Dyche is hopeful that Dewsbury-Hall’s creativity and energy in midfield can offer a new dimension to the side as they aim for a stronger showing in the upcoming season.
