Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has revealed plans to step away from the music industry once his fellow members in the Anti World Gangsters crew achieve success.
The “Declan Rice” hitmaker made this known in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he wrote:
“Once all my n*ggas make it in music, I’m out.”
The hip-hop collective includes Agunna, Fatboy E, Reeplay, Shagba, and their producer, Cross, with Odumodublvck being the most prominent name among them. He has risen rapidly in the Nigerian music scene since his breakout single in 2023 and has since collaborated with top stars like Davido, Skepta, and Stormzy.
Known for his gritty lyrics and bold persona, Odumodublvck’s announcement has sparked mixed reactions online, with fans expressing both admiration for his loyalty and concern over a potential early exit from the spotlight.
Meanwhile, in a related development, music executive Ubi Franklin has stirred debate after revealing he includes a no-pregnancy clause in contracts for female artists.
Speaking on the Culture Sonic podcast, Franklin argued that pregnancy could derail the significant investments—sometimes as high as ₦300 million made in grooming emerging female talents.
“If a female artiste gets pregnant before building a strong and stable career, it could ruin the investment and disrupt their progress,” he said, defending the controversial clause.
Both Odumodublvck’s retirement hint and Franklin’s contractual revelation have reignited discussions on the demands and sacrifices tied to success in Nigeria’s fast-paced music industry.
