The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE Internal), with 60.26 per cent of candidates earning five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, announced the results on Wednesday at the Council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State. He said a total of 1,367,210 candidates registered for the exam, of which 1,358,339 sat between June 16 and July 25, 2025.

Out of this figure, 680,292 were males and 678,047 were females. Wushishi also disclosed that 1,144,496 candidates, representing 84.26 per cent, secured five credits and above irrespective of English and Mathematics.

The registrar further revealed that 1,622 candidates with special needs participated in the exams, including 941 with hearing impairment and 191 with visual impairment.

He urged candidates to check their results only through NECO’s official result portal at results.neco.gov.ng, warning against unauthorised vendors. Candidates are expected to select the exam year, input their examination number, and enter a valid result-checking token purchased from the official portal or authorised vendors before downloading their results.

Wushishi emphasised the importance of safeguarding result copies, as they are essential for further academic pursuits.

The release of the results comes at a crucial time as thousands of students across Nigeria prepare for university admissions and other academic opportunities.
