Ace Nigerian entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has sent a strong warning to politicians against tampering with the outcome of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an interview with Rudolf Okonkwo on 90MinutesAfrica, the 73-year-old, who is widely known as Area Fada, declared that the next nationwide poll would be a “defining moment” for Nigeria’s future.

Charly Boy stressed that the electorate is growing more conscious and intolerant of electoral malpractice, insisting that the era of impunity in vote manipulation is coming to an end.

“The slogan for the next election is simple rig and die,” he said bluntly, signalling that Nigerians are ready to defend their votes and ensure transparency in the electoral process.

Over the years, Charly Boy has carved a niche as one of the country’s most outspoken socio-political commentators, using his platform to call for justice, accountability, and good governance. His latest remarks add to mounting public calls for credible elections as the 2027 race gradually takes shape.
