The National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) has called for the immediate prosecution of Fuji legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following an incident at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

According to reports, the altercation occurred earlier this week when K1 allegedly obstructed aviation procedures during a dispute with airport officials. NAAPE, in a strongly worded statement, described the musician’s actions as “a serious breach of aviation security protocols” and warned that allowing such incidents to go unpunished could endanger safety standards.

“Our airports are critical infrastructure that must remain secure at all times. No one—no matter how popular—should be above the law,” the statement read. The union urged the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and relevant security agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that the law takes its course.

Eyewitnesses claim the incident drew the attention of passengers and aviation workers, sparking debates on the need for stricter enforcement of airport regulations. While K1 is yet to release an official statement, his camp has hinted that “the matter is being blown out of proportion.”

The controversy has since trended on social media, with Nigerians sharply divided—some condemning the musician’s alleged conduct, while others question whether the reaction from NAAPE is excessive.

Industry observers say the outcome of this case could set a precedent for how security breaches involving high-profile personalities are handled in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
