The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an immediate review of the recently released results of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) following the discovery of technical glitches.

In a statement issued on Thursday, WAEC explained that the decision became necessary after it detected bugs affecting the accuracy of the published results. The exam body said it is working swiftly to correct the errors and restore confidence in the result-checking process.

“As part of the review process, access to the online result portal has been temporarily restricted,” the statement read. “Candidates who have already checked their results are advised to recheck them after 24 hours starting from today, Thursday, 7th August 2025.”

WAEC did not disclose the nature of the glitches but assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure that the integrity of the results is upheld. The Council also appealed for patience and understanding from candidates, schools, and the general public during the review period.
