President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, a veteran politician, former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released by the Presidency, Tinubu described Ogbeh as “a statesman of uncommon integrity” whose contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape spanned decades. He praised the late politician for his commitment to democratic ideals, agricultural development, and national unity.
“Chief Audu Ogbeh served Nigeria with distinction. He was a man of great intellect, humility, and patriotism. His death is a significant loss to our nation,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu extended condolences to Ogbeh’s family, the people of Benue State, and the entire Nigerian political community, urging them to find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind.
Ogbeh, who once served as Minister of Agriculture, was widely respected for his policy insights and his advocacy for food security. Tributes have continued to pour in from political leaders, former colleagues, and citizens across the country.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in the coming days.
