Mrs Esther Chinyere Onyekesi, mother of the late CEO of Fish Magnate Group, Martins Ifesinachi Onyekesi, has dismissed claims linking Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, to her son’s k@lling.

Speaking at her home when members of the Geeks and Founders Alliance for Soludo (GEFAS) paid her a condolence visit, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Woman Leader in Anambra said her son’s death was the result of a targeted attack, not political conspiracy.

“They waited for him while he was coming home, and as he alighted from his car to open the gate, they attacked him. I believe it was a targeted attack,” she said, recalling the events that led to the incident last month.

Responding to allegations by activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, Mrs Onyekesi stated: “Governor Soludo is not in any way responsible for the death of my son. We all know that Anambra is now better in terms of security than Soludo met it. I have heard such remarks that the governor was responsible for my son’s death, but it’s all lies. Will Soludo come to every home to mount guard?”

She revealed that the governor had personally contacted her on the night of the abduction, linking her to the state’s Commissioner of Police in efforts to secure her son’s release.

Mrs Onyekesi also alleged that some politicians had attempted to exploit the tragedy for political advantage but insisted she rejected all such moves.

The burial of Martins Onyekesi is scheduled for August 28, 2025, in his hometown of Ikenga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
